You may have noticed that along with students and employees, Trinity’s Langley campus is home to many geese, ducks and other birds! Recently there has been increased attention in the media about increased Avian Influenza across North America, including cases here in BC. Often called ‘Bird Flu’, this bird-based illness can be contagious to humans, most often affecting poultry farm workers, and may pose a serious health risk.
For your own health and safety, please DO NOT TOUCH the geese, ducks, or birds on-campus.
You can find the latest information and provincial resources on Avian Influenza HERE.
