Summer Loan Application

1. How do I apply for summer student loans?

As the start and end dates of each course in the summer semester are variable, each student (no matter the province) must first register for summer courses and then sign a course completion contract with the Financial Aid Office.

Email: awards@twu.ca … to request a Course Completion Contract. Please include your name, ID number, province of loan application, and program

Note: If you are a graduate student in a thesis, internship, practicum, or clinical for the summer semester, please also request the contract to log these hours. Once the course completion contract is returned, it is then reviewed to determine if the applicant is full-time or part-time and then instructions will be provided to you for the application process.

Students must be enrolled in a minimum total:

Undergraduate students: 9 semester hours in a semester for Undergraduate levels, and consistently 3 semester hours between the start and end dates of the semester.

Graduate students: of 5 semester hours in a semester for Graduate levels, and consistently in a minimum of 2 semester hours between the start and end dates of the semester.

Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 weeks. Study periods can exceed 12 weeks but must be within the summer semester.

* Please review the course completion contract for province specific criteria!
