Where is the Centre for Calling & Career Development?
What is the role of the Centre for Calling & Career Development at TWU?

The Centre for Calling & Career Development (CCCD) exists to make sure your career development feels like a connected journey rather than a last-minute scramble before graduation. We work across the full arc of your time at TWU — helping you explore calling and purpose early on, supporting you as you test directions and build experience, and walking with you as you prepare to step into meaningful work.

Career development at TWU isn't confined to one office. You'll encounter it in your courses, through student leadership, and in co-curricular involvement across campus. The CCCD supports that broader ecosystem by providing shared frameworks, tools, and coaching so that wherever you encounter career development, it builds on itself.

Our support also doesn't stop when you graduate. Early alumni can continue accessing CCCD resources as they navigate first roles, make early career decisions, and find their footing in new professional environments.

How and when should I schedule an appointment with a career coach?

You can book a career coaching appointment at any point in your degree — whether you're exploring direction early on, preparing applications as graduation approaches, or working to build your professional network. There is something useful a coach can offer you at every stage.

Career coaching appointments typically fall into one of three areas, depending on what you need most right now.

Exploration: You're curious about what's out there — different fields, industries, roles — and trying to understand what might be a good fit. These conversations help you explore your values, interests, and what the labour market actually looks like, so you can test possibilities with real information rather than assumptions.

Career readiness: You're preparing to launch — working through application documents, clarifying how to communicate your story, or thinking through what experiences you still want to gain before graduation. These conversations focus on the practical elements that help you move forward with confidence.

Connections: You're ready to build your network but unsure how to start. These conversations cover how to use LinkedIn effectively, identify people worth connecting with, craft thoughtful outreach, and access the relationships and resources TWU offers you as a student.

Making the most of your time

When you book, you'll receive prework questions tailored to whichever area you're focusing on. These questions aren't busywork — they help you clarify what you actually need, and they give your coach context going in so you both can make the most of your time together.

What resources are available for resume and cover letter writing?

Are there any job fairs or networking events hosted by the CCCD?
Can the CCCD find me jobs, internships or co-op placements?

Support, Absolutely! Find, No. We exist to equip you with everything you need to be successful, not just find you a job. Our coaches can help you strategically prepare your application and navigate the recruitment process. We are also part of a database of internship and co-op opportunities across Canada called Outcome Campus Connect. It is important to remember that only certain programs have Co-op and eligibility is dependent on your student permits.
