Information about Meal Plans

Meal Plan FAQ

  Meal plans are available to all TWU students and are mandatory for students living in residence.  

Important Dates:

  What is the difference between Dining Swipes and Flex Dollars?  

• Dining Swipes provide access to meals in the Dining Hall.
• Flex Dollars can be used at Starbucks and the Campus Store.

Dining Swipes  

• Dining Swipes expire each Saturday at midnight and refresh on Sunday morning.
• Unused Dining Swipes do not carry over to the next week.

  Flex Dollars  

• Flex Dollars can be used at Starbucks and the Campus Store.
• For resident meal plans, unused Flex Dollars carry over from the Fall semester to the Spring semester.
• Resident Flex Dollars expire at the end of the Spring semester.

  Can I change my meal plan?  
  Meal plan changes may be requested up to the Add/Drop deadline by submitting a request:  MEAL PLAN CHANGE REQUEST  
  After the Add/Drop deadline, meal plans are non-refundable.  

  Additional Meal Plan Purchases  
  Additional Block Plans and Flex Dollars may be purchased by submitting a request through the Service Hub .  

  What happens to unused balances?  

• Unused Dining Swipes expire each Saturday at midnight and do not carry over to the next week.
• Resident Flex Dollars carry over from the Fall semester to the Spring semester and expire at the end of the Spring semester.
• Commuter Block Plans and Flex Dollars do not expire.

If a medical condition prevents you from eating in the cafeteria for the semester and you would like to request a meal plan exemption, please review our Meal Plan Exemption Request article, paying special attention to the Doctor Note requirements:   REQUEST FOR EXEMPTION WITH DOCTOR'S NOTE
