Add an Instant Image While Editing a Page or Post
-
From the edit screen of your page or post, click the lightning icon in the top right of the top bar (just above the settings panel).
-
Hover over the bottom edge of an image, and select an option: Set as Featured Image, Insert Into Post, Edit Image Details.
Tip: If you'd like to edit your image, you will first need to add it to your Media Library (click the image itself and a green checkmark will indicate that the file has been added to your content).
Wordpress has some basic image editing options avaiable with the Media Library.
Start by clicking on an image in the Media Library.
-
Metadata: On the image page, to the right of the image, you can edit various metadata, such as the image title, file name or the alternative text. It is strongly recommended to ensure that all images displayed on your website have alternative text. This will provide the most accessible experience for all users. It's also recommended to add an image credit. Note that you can replace an image. This might be particularly useful if your image is used across multiple pages or posts.
-
Crop, Scale, Rotate: On the image page, click the Edit button, directly underneath the image
-
Be sure to apply any changes you make, and click Save Edits.
